Unexpected visitor

Great Kiskadee lives in the neighbourhood, I hear him calling all day. This is the first time he came close for the photo. For those of you who like the technical data : Nikon D70s and Nikkor 400mm 3.5 @5.6.

Another sunset through the heavy smog

The eery picture

This is the photo of the sunset in Chapada dos Guimarães, showing the effect of the heavy smog caused by the bush-burning.

Good News, my little winged friend is back

The Common Potoo came back to nest on the same tree. It stays motionless all the time, trying to blend into the texture of the tree.

Another new specie for my photo collection

Juvenile Picazuro Pigeon.

New specie for my collection

White-eyed Parakeet. There are the band of 20-30 birds flying over Chapada dos Guimarães. Very noisy and very colourful.

Tough times

Five months into the dry season. The air is dry with the relative humidity of 10%. Bush-burning causes heavy smog all over Mato Grosso. No relief in site. The birds are only the brite site. They continue to sing, like this White-throated Kingbird.
