despite all the odds

my book on Pantanal birds appeared in the National Library of Congress. At least my work wasn't in vain

I'm sorry I hadn't said before how much I have enjoyed and appreciated your photographs of Mato Grosso, I generally never comment on blogs. You have a gift for capturing the essence of the birds, other wildlife, and street scenes. It seemed to me when I first started reading your blog about 2 years ago that it must be a wonderful thing to live in Mato Grosso and have such talent for capturing these beautiful images, but I understand a little better now that it can be a very hard life, harsh climate at times, remote, lonely, feeling it's difficult to make real connections in a society that's not what you were born into, and trying to make a living as a photographer when digital technology has upended the whole concept of what it means to publish books and photos. It is eye-opening to me that you have been going through such difficulties, I only saw the gorgeousness of your photos. Please realize that you have great gifts, and take good care of yourself. Is your book still for sale? --D.S.

thank you for your support D.S. unfortunately my first book on the birds was all sold out, the publisher took liberty to steal 5% of my books without even asking my permission, the second book is still up for sale, but the publisher doesn't even bother to give me the report on book sale, when I asked for it, they insulted me, don't even have to mention it, but they also stole my second book for distribution without compensation. Don't like to be negative, never before I have been negative in my life, but I have been robbed too many times here and am really pissed off. Cheers, Wes
