another face of Mato Grosso

typical picture of northern Mato Grosso in the Amazon Rain Forest region.
The charred body of the Brazilian Walnut tree is a symbol of mindless destruction. Because it is forbidden by law to cut the fruit tree, it becomes the victim of the people clearing the forest for the pasture who burn the tree with anger over its protected statue. This barbaric act truly symbolizes the attitude of most farmers towards the values that forest represent.
